After indulging all summer on all the NYC foods I love I am ready for a detox. Starting today I’m going to attempt to eat as Paleo as possibly. The Paleo diet is the hunter gather diet aka the Caveman diet: meats, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and oils. Here is a full list of dos and don’ts for the diet.
Long diets are intimidating and easy to break, especially those that cut out bread carbs and cheese, so I will be modifying a little to make the diet more realistic for me. I am not going to cut out wine or hard alcohol, only wheat based beer. I will eat quinoa occasionally, and I will allow myself one cheat meal a week (ritual healthier Chinese Sundays!)
